As shock Game of Thrones deaths go, this is not necessarily one people will be mourning too long. Malevolent boy King Joffrey got the wedding gift he really deserved: being poisoned at his own party. Perhaps one of the show's most reviled characters, at his wedding feast King Joffrey met his maker when he drank a goblet of poisoned wine, given to him by Tyrion, to wash down some pie. Talk Joffrey takes multiple chugs of wine that is supposedly so poisoned it has turned purple, then shows no reaction while Margy says an even longer sentence about Lord Buckler, Joffrey taunts Tyrion about his pie, reaches down, taunts again, shoves pie into his gob, taunts again, grabs another piece, bit dry, needs washing down, drinks wine -- and GAME OF THRONES fans are huge sticklers for detail and the HBO show is one of the most detailed TV experiences available. However, now fans of the show have pointed out a glaring plot hole Arya used poison to kill the Freys and their confederates: a mass murder executed with ease, with the help of poisoned wine. Lysa Arryn used a similar tactic (wine, laced with toxin) to kill her Season 1 (2011) Main article: Game of Thrones (season 1) In Winterfell, Ned Stark becomes Hand of the King to Robert Baratheon, bringing his daughters, Sansa and Arya, with him to King’s Landing. Ned’s son, Bran, is paralyzed after stumbling upon Robert’s wife, Cersei Lannister, having sex with her brother, Jaime. Joffrey gets poisoned at his wedding feast and dies. During the commotion, Sansa flees with Dontos and meets Petyr, who reveals Olenna collected the poison used on Joffrey from her hairnet. Tyrion gets arrested for Joffrey’s murder, and rumors spread about Sansa poisoning him. Meanwhile, she gets taken to meet Petyr at the Fingers in the Vale Littlefinger & Olenna were directly involved. Olenna confessed to it in front of Margery in episode 4. Ser Dontos was hired to transfer the poison onto the unsuspecting Sansa. If you go back to episode 2, you can clearly identify the point at which Olenna takes the poison from Sansa's necklace & puts it in Joffrey's wine.
